Jim is the designer of the new CTU-1 remote control hydraulically articulated collapsible goal post that is currently in use at Clemson University and at Southern Methodist University. The concept was born in the fall of 2002 while Jim was attending the West Virginia-Boston College game in Morgantown, WV. The concept was further developed by using computer aided drafting technology which provides a direct link to state of the art laser cutting and fabrication technologies. The parts are cut to within .007 of an inch.

Jim has been the owner of a design/build construction company for 21 years and is a West Virginia high school football official, former player and is an avid sports fan. Currently he has one patent and one patent pending with the United States Patent Office for this system.
